A self-represented family litigant.

I am a university-educated, working, single parent. My income is low, under $15,000 per year, expenses are high and my time is precious. Because our child is living full-time with me and the other parent lives outside of Canada, I need to be able to make any and all decisions for our child's well-being. I decided to seek sole custody and guardianship.

In my attempts to access the legal system, I hoped to:

* get advice as to what order would be most appropriate in my circumstances to give me the result I wanted and needed;

* find out how and what to manage about the court process;

* get help filling out forms, if necessary; and
