FINDINGS AND INTERPRETATION –

SURVEY QUESTIONNAIRE

7.1. INTRODUCTION

This chapter outlines f‌indings from the questionnaire survey that meets the

second objective of this study. Section 7.2 outlines a comparison between

intellectual capital value drivers perceived by directors as important for the

revenue growth aspect of revenue growth reputation and intellectual capital

value drivers disclosed on company-sponsored websites. Section 7.3 outlines

linear regression results of intellectual capital value drivers clustered as

classes of resources and as predictors of revenue growth reputation and

provides a summary of the chapter.

7.2. RESULTS FROM THE SURVEY QUESTIONNAIRE

Survey questionnaire data were used to determine if the directors of these

f‌irms displayed a disparity between the disclosure on company-sponsored

websites and the perceived importance of each intellectual capital resource

item. Using a f‌ive-point Likert scale, the questionnaire asked directorsto state

the extent to which they agreed or disagreed with the intellectual capital items

listed. Directors were instructed to select one fromf‌ive options: strongly agree,

somewhat agree, neutral/depends, somewhat disagree and strongly disagree.

7.2.1. Revenue Growth Reputation

Thirty-nine of the 92 fastest growing f‌irms in 2006 in the sample

(response rate of 42%) and 39 of the 93 fastest growing f‌irms in the sample
