Nurses and midwives rally to stop budget cuts.

Victorian nurses and midwives protested last month against massive budget cuts to health which have led to widespread hospital bed closures across the state.

Chants of "Ted, Ted, show you care, fund public health, it's only fair" and "WTF--where's the funding" rang out from nurses and midwives, their families, other health professionals, unions and the community, at the ANF Victorian Branch rally held in the Treasury Gardens, on Sunday lo February.

ANF Victorian Branch Secretary Lisa Fitzpatrick said the blame game between the federal and state governments had to end. "This problem will not go away. Stop blaming and come together to negotiate an outcome: show some leadership and fix this."
