I completed my enrolled nursing qualification in 2005 and in that time have worked in various capacities as a nurse in Australia in aged care, psychiatric and acute. My qualification allowed me to work as a carer in Ireland and the United Kingdom and travel extensively around Europe. I chose nursing as a career because I wanted to work in a job where I could have a positive impact on the community as well as making a difference in peoples' lives.

I work at a busy private rehabilitation hospital in Melbourne which is always developing and where patients are forever coming and going. Some are with us for a week and some for up to a year! That is the nature of "rehab". The challenge is trying to do the best you can in every given situation even when you don't feel like you can or when circumstances seem to be out of your control.
