Strong growth in private health cover.

Despite warnings means-testing would cause Australians to pull out of private health cover, health insurance numbers have continued to grow.

Health Minister Tanya Pilbersek said the March quarterly report from the independent Private Health Insurance Administration significantly increased when the parliamentary debate on the issue took place. "During the first three months of the year 50,000 people actually joined up."
