On 3 June 2010, the Minimum Wage Panel of Fair Work Australia made known its decision that minimum rates would rise by $26 per week (or the hourly equivalent) from the beginning of July. This was the first decision of the Panel, which replaced the Australian Fair Pay Commission established under the Howard Government's WorkChoices legislation.
