EVERY dollar spent fixing a vandalised fixture at a school, is a dollar taken out of a classroom.
That's the frustration Meridan State College is dealing with after several classrooms, desks, electronic devices and furniture were completely ruined.
Vandals entered the school sometime over the school holidays and splashed paint across expensive equipment including whiteboards and air-conditioners, before turning over furniture and leaving the contents strewn across the floor.
Teachers who arrived to set up classrooms for the new school year were confronted with the shocking scene.
Cleaners reportedly spent a week trying to clean the mess but carpet needed to be replaced and painters were called in to erase the evidence.
The careless vandals have caused thousands of dollars in damage to the school.
It's disappointing to see this happen on the Coast. And it's devastating for students and staff...
