It is sometimes necessary to attempt to reconstruct a crime scene or simulate an event in order to gain knowledge about the relationship between the dynamics of an incident and the resulting bloodstain pattern. Attendance at a scene of a violent crime or suicide and subsequent viewing of photographs will not necessarily allow informed consideration of all the parameters that may have influenced the creation of the bloodstain evidence. Even experienced examiners should consider reconstructing or simulating a proposed event scenario to attempt to demonstrate its credibility.
